While sailing abroad, Founder & CEO, Soren Crabb, noticed that there were fewer than a handful of New Zealand distillers with a focus on traditional methods. Inspired by the oceans and New Zealand's rich maritime history, he sought to create something entirely new, and 1919 Distilling was born.
1919 Distilling embodies New Zealand's rich history and pioneering spirit. The name commemorates the year Kiwis voted against prohibition, reflecting the nation's independent ethos. Utilizing premium local ingredients like Otago cherries, mānuka honey, and citrus, 1919 crafts distinctive spirits that capture the essence of Aotearoa.
