LWF Distilling's Triple Molasses Rum is a distinctive white rum produced in Taranaki, New Zealand. Crafted by fermenting molasses sourced from Bundaberg, Queensland, Australia, with a specialty yeast and pristine New Zealand rainwater, this rum embodies the deep, fruity flavour known as 'rum funk'. The fermentation undergoes a double distillation process: an initial pot still 'wash run' followed by a rectifying column 'spirit run', where the spirit is purified to 94–98% ABV before being diluted to 40% with five-times filtered New Zealand rainwater. The result is a rum with a sweet start, smooth mouthfeel, and a light burnt note on the finish.
