Amigos Aotearoa is New Zealand’s first Kiwi-Mexican mezcal brand, founded by Hayden and Adrian after a chance meeting in Mexico City in 2018. Inspired by the vibrant mezcal culture of Oaxaca, the duo partnered with a third-generation Maestro Mezcalero to craft an artisanal spirit that bridges two cultures. Their mezcal is produced using traditional methods—roasting Espadín agave piñas in earth pits, fermenting, and distilling—to create a smooth, smoky, and earthy profile. The brand embodies the spirit of togetherness, inviting Kiwis to share in the rich heritage of mezcal.
